Smart Bandage Can Detect Pressure Injuries

Nurses understand the pain, costs, lifestyle and work restrictions that are often associated with pressure injuries otherwise known as bed sores and  pressure sores.  Can you imagine the positive implications  of this research for our patients,  the elderly and anyone at risk of developing pressure injuries along with the potential cost savings!

According to article referenced below  the new “smart bandage”  uses electrical currents to detect early tissue damage from pressure ulcers, or bedsores, before they can be seen by human eyes.
