Reassessment of ACAT Approvals for Respite is OK!

As you know, respite approvals for ACAT remain approved at either low or high care, unlike approvals for permanent placement where the distinction has been removed. Recently concerns have been raised that respite clients with a low care approval were being told by a hospital that despite a clear change of needs to high care, residents would not be put forward for reassessment as they already had approval.   Advice from DSS however have advised that that is in fact not the case and that reassessment in this instance is appropriate.
