Paediatric Acute Onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome

There are a subset of children with obsessive-comulsive disroder (OCD) who have a sudden onset of their psychiatric symptoms typically following infection with a variety of agents, including Streptococcus pyogenes, varicella, and Mycoplasma pneumoniae.  This syndrome is now called Acute Onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome (PANS). The enclosed paper  is a consensus document for the diagnostic evaluation  of these children published in the Journal of Child and Adolescent Psychopharmacology.
